GRAY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY

Hi all! Whew! This past year after welcoming Gray to our family has been busy (hence my lack of posting), busy, busy! But, I've enjoyed almost every minute of it and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I can't believe my tiny, little baby is a whole year old now! It's definitely a bittersweet feeling and I love experiencing all the "firsts" with him. It's so refreshing to see him encounter and learn everything for the very first time.

We had his birthday party a few weeks ago and I wanted to share the special details of the day because it was definitely a labor of love! I designed the invitations and matching decor (of course!) and my sweet friend Lauren took these beautiful pictures to capture the day. I'm so blessed to have such talented friends! Here's the invitation + party hats + bubbles I designed.
And here's some shots of the big day! It was in our backyard and I was so worried about the weather but luckily it never rained! We just had to endure Alabama's wonderful humidity. I wanted to do something outdoors and in June I knew it needed to entail water but I still wanted to do something creative other than just having a baby pool for the kids. So, I turned it into an outdoor bubble bath with bubbles everywhere! It turned out pretty cute and I think the kids had a blast!

And here's some super sweet pictures of my baby boy before the party enjoying the bubbles!

Didn't Lauren do a perfect job of capturing the party!? She is a wonderful photographer if you're looking for anyone in the Birmingham area!

shower invitation :: HIS & HER BBQ

Hello! Here is a shower invitation I recently designed for some sweet friends. The party was held outdoors and decorated with red and white checkered table cloths, red zinnias, teal blue mason jars, pennant flags, and local barbeque was catered. It was a lovely night and I think the couple felt very honored.

To keep with the rustic, outdoor theme, I paired the red, white, and teal invitations with kraft paper envelopes and jazzed them up with his and her kitchen "tools" liners.

WEDDING SUITE: kristen and aaron

I recently designed a wedding suite for some sweet friends, Kristen and Aaron, that got married over the summer at Lake Martin, Alabama. The bride sent over the pictures from her photographer, Leslie Hollingsworth, and I wanted to share these beauties. We used a classic photograph of their ceremony venue, Church in the Pines, as the focal point on several of the pieces. Paired with pretty turquoise envelopes and a fun script - it was the perfect combination for a lovely, lake wedding!

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT: grayson allen owens

Well, here it is - Gray's official birth announcement! I didn't know exactly how I wanted to jump back into blogging, but I thought it only made sense to formally introduce Gray by sharing his birth announcement I designed. It was certainly a labor of love and I'm so happy with the outcome.

The fabulous Johanna Cosby took his newborn pictures when he was 10 days old. Gray was not a happy camper, but Johanna worked her magic and you would never know it. The pictures are beautiful and I opted to do more of a lifestyle shoot outside with the three of us. I'm so happy to have some pretty family pictures and just a few squishy, posed pictures of Gray. I will share more of those later!

I had the announcements letterpressed by Four Hats Press with gray ink on French Paper's Pure White. I paired them with Paper Prensentation's Green Tea envelopes and sealed them with mustache washi tape. It all came together so nicely and I was so excited to get them out the door!

DESIGN WORK: bids for bridges

Here is a quick post with a recent poster I designed for a local organization raising money to support the Camp Bridges Foundation. Every year they host a wine tasting and silent auction to help support camps and programs for children with heart, liver, and kidney issues. Here is a snippet from the foundation with more information -

Camp BRIDGES Foundation provides camps and programs at no cost for pre and post transplant children, teens, young adults and their families from Alabama and neighboring states.

We create a fun and educational environment for heart, kidney, liver, and lung transplant recipients that encourages positive self image and healthy transplant living.

Those served receive and provide peer support and form lasting friendships to better cope with the unique challenges of transplantation.

It is a fabulous fundraiser and I was thrilled to help out with this event. This year they wanted to update their look and promote the new name of the event, Bids for Bridges. Here is the poster I designed -

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT: coleman allen shirley

I wanted to share my sweet nephew's birth announcement I designed over the summer. I may be biased, but he is the cutest little boy, just look at him the day he entered the world. Precious, I know.

I used black and white photos for a subtle interior and attached kraft paper for the outer ends. The announcement accordion folds and is bound with twine and adorned with a sweet stamp. I think it's "cute as a button." What do you think?

1st BIRTHDAY INVITE: anne lewis

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share a project I did over the summer for one of the sweetest little girls I know - Anne Lewis. We both share a July 4th birthday (the 2nd and 3rd) so we wanted to do a red, white, and blue cookout theme. I tied in the pink to keep them girly and feminine! I printed them on white linen stock and paired them with brown kraft envelopes. Enjoy!
