BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT: grayson allen owens

Well, here it is - Gray's official birth announcement! I didn't know exactly how I wanted to jump back into blogging, but I thought it only made sense to formally introduce Gray by sharing his birth announcement I designed. It was certainly a labor of love and I'm so happy with the outcome.

The fabulous Johanna Cosby took his newborn pictures when he was 10 days old. Gray was not a happy camper, but Johanna worked her magic and you would never know it. The pictures are beautiful and I opted to do more of a lifestyle shoot outside with the three of us. I'm so happy to have some pretty family pictures and just a few squishy, posed pictures of Gray. I will share more of those later!

I had the announcements letterpressed by Four Hats Press with gray ink on French Paper's Pure White. I paired them with Paper Prensentation's Green Tea envelopes and sealed them with mustache washi tape. It all came together so nicely and I was so excited to get them out the door!

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT: coleman allen shirley

I wanted to share my sweet nephew's birth announcement I designed over the summer. I may be biased, but he is the cutest little boy, just look at him the day he entered the world. Precious, I know.

I used black and white photos for a subtle interior and attached kraft paper for the outer ends. The announcement accordion folds and is bound with twine and adorned with a sweet stamp. I think it's "cute as a button." What do you think?

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT: matthew "boyd" tuggle

Here are some more recent baby announcements I designed that I thought I would share. Like some of my previous designs I posted, I printed 4x6" photos at our local Wolf Camera and paired them with Paper-Source's Pool envelopes. I painted a watercolor background to match the envelopes and hand wrote his name in calligraphy. We attached the photograph to the background and created an overall 5x7" card. I really like how the fading watercolor stripes turned out and how they picked up the teal in his sweet picture.

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT: frances "mims" pate

Here is a baby announcement I recently completed for a friend's sweet new baby girl. Not only is she completely adorable and I could eat her right up, but how precious is the name Mims!? The parents did not find out the gender of the baby so when baby girl arrived, they were ready to girly up everything!

I wrote her name and monogram in calligraphy and paired it with a delicate floral illustration for the background. I used Paper-Source's persimmon envelopes and had the photos printed at our local WOLF Camera. The pink, coral, and mint green worked perfect with the black and white photo (taken by Hillary Gamble of Je Vois Photography). Thanks Ann Yates!

look at that cute little monogrammed hiney!

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT: anne lewis botsford

Here is a baby announcement I did for some close friends last year. I have really enjoyed watching Anne Lewis grow and it is amazing how much she has changed since this picture. She is such a joy!

I wrote her name and monogram in calligraphy and printed them on Neenah's Classic Crest in brilliant white and layered the back with Neenah's Sundance Linen in natural white. I love the contrast of the two papers and the soft pink really helps "girly" up the simple design. I paired the announcements with Paper-Source's blossom envelope.

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT: mary rutledge morgan

Here are some photos of Mary Rutledge's birth announcements that I just finished. I love the picture - it is so sweet and soft and the muted colors are perfect.

I wrote her name and initials in calligraphy and printed them on a smooth white stock. The envelopes are a shimmery cream: paper source's stardream opal paired with tiny address labels I printed myself.
